Community First Responders This website provides detailed information on the Community First Responder (CFR) volunteers that work for the South Central Ambulance Service NHS trust.
What is a Responder? A Community First Responder or CFR, is a member of the public, trained by the ambulance service, who volunteers to help in their community by responding to 999 calls and medical emergencies before the arrival of the emergency ambulance.

Community Responder Group

Name:Ludgershall
Areas:Five miles radius from Ludgershall this includes villages such as Brill, Ashendon, Grendon Underwood, Edgcott, Oakley and Piddington.
Contact:Amanda Cundy on 01869 365111
About:My name's Henry and I am currently the sole member of the CFR scheme based in Ludgershall (Bucks). Whilst geographically large, it's not a busy area, but the scheme comes into its own due to the rural location meaning that emergency services may have further to travel. Being the sole responder in the scheme means that there are chunks of the day that aren't covered by the scheme. As such, I'd welcome any support and if you're interested in joining feel free to get in touch.
Thanks:I've been lucky enough to be supported generously by three groups. These contributions have made the scheme financially and this means that the equipment will stay available to the people who live within the area I cover. The "benefactors" are: Waddesdon Estates small grants programme, Ludgershall Parish Council and Brill Parish Council.

We are always on the lookout for new responders, ideally we would like to setup a CFR group in as many different areas throughout the four counties covered by the south central area as possible. If you are interested in becoming a responder, please Click Here. If you don't fancy the idea of actually attending an emergency situation, groups always need organisers, fund fundraisers and volunteers who are willing to help in other capacities.

Please bear in mind that all the work that community responders do is on a voluntary basis, the equipment has to be bought and maintained, which all costs real money. If you want to make a donation and help a particular group, or the scheme in general, whatever the amount, it is all very gratefully received and will make a difference!
