| About: | At present there are 14 responders - Nigel,Stephen, Colette, Loren, David, Nicola, Ted, Alan, Julia, John, Catherine, David, Bob and Wendy. We work in three Responder groups covering North & South Wokingham and Finchampstead. We are a diverse group of people who enjoy giving something back to our community. Being a responder is a serious business - that said we still manage to have fun when we meet to train and socialise. We would welcome more volunteers from any part of Wokingham and particularly those who live in Finchampstead. If you are interested please get in touch.
Wokingham Responders have been to over 60 patients in the last 3 months to the end of Nov 2010.From 90 year olds to 2 year olds. |
| Thanks: | Wokingham Responders have had donations totallimg over £1000 the South Berkshire Singers,Wokingham Town Council,Inner Wheel of Bridgend in Wales,Waitrose (Wokingham) and the Coop Community Fund.
In Sept 2010 the Wokingham responders held a street collection which netted nearly £400. We would like to thank the people of Wokingham for their generosity. We have finally managed to fund a third kit costing £2000 to be used in Finchampstead however we are still in need of yet more funds to keep all three schemes running. It costs £900/annum to fund our schemes. |

We are always on the lookout for new responders, ideally we would like to setup a CFR group in as many different areas throughout the four counties covered by the south central area as possible. If you are interested in becoming a responder, please Click Here. If you don't fancy the idea of actually attending an emergency situation, groups always need organisers, fund fundraisers and volunteers who are willing to help in other capacities.
Please bear in mind that all the work that community responders do is on a voluntary basis, the equipment has to be bought and maintained, which all costs real money. If you want to make a donation and help a particular group, or the scheme in general, whatever the amount, it is all very gratefully received and will make a difference!
