Community Responder Group

Name:Beenham
Areas:Beenham and up to an approximately 5 mile radius of surrounding areas.
Contact:Scheme coordinator Chris Curry 07787868085 or Responders Managers on 0800 587 0207
About:There are five Responders in the Group. We take it in turns to be on call, sharing one set of equipment working hard between us to provide cover. We are: Chris, Steve, Margot, Matt and Bill.
Thanks:We have been operational since January 2009 and would like to thank those of you who have very kindly contributed to our equipment and training. Particular thanks go to the Beenham WI who raised over £100 in December 2010, The Six Bells who raised £23.75 in April 2011 and to Cooper Ward Ltd. for their monthly contributions that cover our mobile phone costs. In addition we recently received (December 2011)a one off contribution of £100 from the relatives of one of our patients in recognition of the support we give to the community. We would be pleased to hear from anyone who would like to help raise more money for the scheme.

We are always on the lookout for new responders, ideally we would like to setup a CFR group in as many different areas throughout the four counties covered by the south central area as possible. If you are interested in becoming a responder, please Click Here. If you don't fancy the idea of actually attending an emergency situation, groups always need organisers, fund fundraisers and volunteers who are willing to help in other capacities.

Please bear in mind that all the work that community responders do is on a voluntary basis, the equipment has to be bought and maintained, which all costs real money. If you want to make a donation and help a particular group, or the scheme in general, whatever the amount, it is all very gratefully received and will make a difference!
